Ontario Cell Phone law - 2009
Ontario has got to the second reading where all people won't be able to hold a cell phone to their ear or watch a DVD. That was a real issue, as I understand.

I'm not one for supporting the it's ok to talk on the phone, as there have been many a times that I'm a culprit of it.

There are a few feeds right now talking about this, I've posted a few for you.

NOTE: it's not illegal yet....so talk away until Fall 2009.

Technology: Moving ahead...what is the future?
You may ask yourself, where are we going to be in the future? Oh come on, you know you have. On my last blog I was going on about the Twitter business card. I bet that just blew your socks off....yeah right.

So, imagine now i'm about to show you (if you haven't already seen it) the link that will show you a clear vision of tomorrow technology and it doesn't have a laptop or a iphone to make it work. You just need a solid surface and good light.

Check this out. I'm calling this one....AMAZING and I can truly see it in the future

Business cards - the evolution from Paper to Palm to Twitter!
The Twitter revolution is about to unfold and I'm falling into the system of being in the trail of "happy twitter land".

I'm more curious to what this will lead to than encourage the passengers to join my Twitter train to who-knows-where-ville.

I signed up with my Twitter Business Card online yesterday. comes with my information and well, it's a business card. They say you don't even need to give out business cards anymore. I'm not sure that's the case, as I remember with my PalmPilot (cira 1997) I was able to "beam" my business card to anyone that wanted it. I thought that was the end. Somehow, not everyone was on the same page and it wouldn't send through to every handheld. You all remember the monochrome fashion of the latest that would "sync" with your outlook.

I recall manually "writing' palm style into the handheld when i was visiting my then girlfriend and now wife. She thought she was with the biggest geek ever. :)

Then I was very sad in 2001 when PalmPilot was sold and the owners started a NEW company called "Handspring". I was Handspring supporter....I purchased the newest most amazing one...the Handspring Visor Prism. It was awesome. It had the ability to plug in a camera and EVEN a phone. Wow....a phone in your handheld. Imagine that in the year 2001!

I was a very sad boy with all the toys of technology. Handspring eventually sold to Palm and then i was back to getting a Treo 600. Then I went to the Treo 650 (when i moved to Rogers). I still have the Treo 650 by the way. In case you wanted to know and i use it for logging my car milage that I send to the accountant each year. It still syncs with my MacBook Pro. Makes the information transfer much easier.

I'm using however the Blackberry 8703e (Telus) and in the USA I have the iPhone (Edge). Yes. I haven't gone much further than this as I'm not sure how much I can take in toys, as I just want them to work. You know I'm getting older when i'm slowing down with the cool toys in technology. Or even better, I'm needing my own challenge so I've started my own marketing company that allows me to create the technology such as the Mingle (www.themingle.net).

Either way, I can now send my twitter business card. check out my "Tweets" and you'll see it.

The good and bad about Apple!
Ok, today was a bit upsetting and was close to putting my family into total chaos.

I turned off my computer last night (after travelling to the USA offices) and this morning when I turned it on. NOTHING. Nada. Zip. Zero.

I choked, coughed and then cried. I did everything possible....the end result. I had to take it in to get repaired. The kicker...it's past the 1 year warranty by 2 weeks and the repair bill is going to be $600 - $900.

OUCH!

I love Apple computers, they really are amazing. However, with this luxury comes costs. I'm comparing the Apple to a Mercedes-Benz. They don't break down often, but when they do, it's going to be costly.

You can call me crazy but it's good money spent. I'm typing this on the Macbook Pro 17" that we had fixed (logic board problem as well).

The thing I love about the Apple is that I was able to pull out my harddrive and plug it into the 17" and here I am. Plug and Play. I don't know if you can do that with any PC, but I'm happy to share with you I was only down by 6 hours.
