Valentino’s Restaurant Gets a Refresh

Valentino’s Restaurant Gets a Refresh

by: Adam

Website refreshes can make a substantial difference to a website, even if the updates or changes seem minimal. Valentino’s has been a Hamilton establishment for nearly 40 years, and we wanted this website refresh to really reflect the evolution of their brand. Familiar font treatments and colours, as well as the use of the textured background, were repurposed while some exciting new elements were added for a more modern and visually captivating experience. Famous for their food, Valentino’s prepares their sauces for customers to purchase, and they are also Hamilton’s original craft brewery- so a front and centre slider on the home page became a way to let visitors know the variety of products and services they can look forward to. True foodies know that the experience of good food is enjoyed with all of our senses- so a beautiful layout and a gallery featuring some of their most famous…

Chocolate and Web Development? Yes, PLEASE!

Chocolate and Web Development? Yes, PLEASE!

by: Adam

When Chocolate Tales wanted a new corporate website designed and developed, we couldn’t help but say YES. Chocolate? Check. Design a cool website? Check. Make sure it’s mobile responsive,  user-friendly and looks yummy? Check, Check and Check! Chocolate Tales had a clear vision of what they wanted. They had seen video headers and clean, minimalist designs and asked us to marry that with their beautiful confectionary creations. We also were sure to showcase their offerings: team-building workshops for companies and corporations to bond over their sweet treats. With that in mind, we made sure our header fully showcased their video footage and that there was heavy imagery throughout the website’s internal pages so potential clients could clearly see the delicious potential Chocolate Tales had to offer. Yes, it was hard for us to keep from drooling too. We love when clients’ have a clear vision and we work hard to…

Ransomware is on the rise and is making headlines again with WordPress security plug-in Wordfence reporting a new attack on websites. “EV Ransomware” is another form of malicious software that an attacker installs on your computer or on your server through an insecure website to gain access to your system, and lock you out until you pay a price. According to Wordfence: Ransomware today is growing fast. In 2017, 100 new ransomware variants were released into the wild, and there was a 36% year-over-year increase in ransomware attacks worldwide. The average ransomware demand increased 266% to an average of $1077 per victim. [Source: Symantec Threat Report 2017] So this isn’t the first time Ransomware has made the news. Last month, we reported the global attack known as WannaCry attacked websites using vulnerabilities in missed software updates to get through and lock out users and systems in hospitals, government organizations, and individuals…
