A few new things at Apple

by: Adam

Some of the features coming out are exactly earth shattering as they have been around with the android system for the past couple of years. However, there have been many and prudence to what Apple is trying to do this includes a new map program that is completely unique to Apple. After they’ve licensed software from tom-tom they been able now to create their own mapping system to their mobile units no longer needing Google as a resource to get people places or to find information. Apple claims they’ll have access to 100 million businesses that you’ll be able to search online for their mapping system. What isn’t outlined is if the Canadian businesses are included in this mapping system. As well how would a business go about adding their information to this map is not yet indicated on either side of the border. They’ve improved their voice recognition system,…

The next step in Touch screens

by: Adam

Hey Tech-Heads!, If you’re anything like me, you aren’t the biggest fan of touch screen devices. When it comes to cellphones and or tablet devices and that flat surface just isn’t going to do it for you (I’m still talking about mobile devices here), and you just have a hard time accepting that this is the way the industry is headed, well here is a step in the right direction! The flat screen is no more and is brought to you by Tactus Technology, which may actually be able to convert the physical keyboard lovers (I am one of them!). For years I have played around with touch devices and have never felt I’ve been connected to my device and that I’m just touching a wall and hoping something happens when I push it. I want to know that my phone got the message, and I got that sub conscience connection that…

Blackberry Remains the choice at FPM3

by: Adam

It’s been a hard decision, but I’m sticking to Blackberry for the time being for our office.  I am putting it on probation as the general direction in the office is that Android is getting warm and welcoming reviews from the accounts staff.    I guess as the President I have the final say on our “equipment” however the reasons for why we should change are actually quite complelling and I have to say are even convincing to me. I was the Palm Pilot original advocate.  I stuck with Palm right up until Handspring was acquired again by them.   Then I moved to Blackberry.  I was glad that I did, however now I’m seeing the mobile future and Blackberry is slowly keeping up.   There is so many areas of improvement that need to be done, but more to their disadvantage is that the world isn’t wanting to work with them…

by: Adam

If you’ve never been here before, then you won’t know the difference.  To those of you that are coming back you’ll notice that we have a bit of a change on our website, actually it’s a completely redesigned layout. If you’re looking at this on a tablet or mobile device you’ll also notice a new layout and design has been created. I’m excited to announce the launch of the new FPM3.com website. It’s been 18 months since we last updated our will last website and we were very excited with that layout format. However in the last 18 months things have changed, flash is no longer supported mobile devices and we needed to integrate our social media connections a little better. Thanks for visiting and make sure you “LIKE” us on Facebook [but only if you really like us] as well as check out my Tech Talk with my buddy…

Google Places now linked with Google +

by: Adam

Another cog in the wheel at Google + as they showcase that they are building all the tools at Google together slowly. It started with separate systems, and now they are starting to link and connect. The importance of the Google + is slowly coming together and soon it could be bringing more value to the Social Media world. Google announced that Google + and Google Places (maps with your business) are now connected and to setup/manage your business you will now do it through your Google + account. The same Google + that will allow you to connect your friends and work associates together. How natural and perfect is this connection and the future of how Google + value grows from here. Maps, reviews and better SEO all linked with your social media connections, just simply brillant. Makes sense to me. This is very interesting for the future of…

Time for a new coat of paint at FPM3.com

by: Adam

Over the past 18 months FPM3 has enjoyed a very cool robust website. It has sliding images, a Mingle on the front, and a “ticker tape” style information feed that send all these blogs and Twitter feeds across the network. We even created the “custom chat” program that also works with Social Media (Twitter connections). However, as I teach, consult and help other companies with their strategies and developing a plan for their online operations. I have to look to make a change to ours as well. Coming June 4 will be a NEW clean looking website. Not that the other was dirty! We have a NEW mobile website, better outline of our locations and all the latest work that is taking place. I figured that for memory sake, I’ve attached a screen shot of the current website so we can all go back in memory lane in a few…

Chrome takes the lead!

by: Adam

vs After years of the online browsing lead, Internet Explorer has finally taken 2nd place to the leader Google Chrome. It’s hard to believe but it has finally arrived a new browser leader and is this the foundation for the future of computers? As Google has their laptop and tablets growing by the numbers it is inevitable that Google would eventually take the lead in the online browsing world. As Google comes out with their laptops and operating system that are fully integrated with their cloud computing, this truly is a milestone with respect to our online browsing experience and how we as users interact with our computer or shall I say “cloud” systems. The next 3 years will be exciting as we see more of our online providers bring us a much more robust experience through browsers and with cloud computing. Windows has a lot of catching up to do…
