by: Adam

If you’re in North America and you don’t live under a rock, chances are you’ve been hearing a lot of buzz over these things called “bitcoins” for the past year or so. Now in the event you’re like me, and don’t pay attention to the news as much as you should…you’re probably asking yourself: “what the hell is a bitcoin and why do people keep rambling on about them?” Well thanks to this great, new-age thing we call “the internet”, I was able to Google bitcoins and this is what Wikipedia gave me: “Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer payment system and digital currency introduced as open source software in 2009. It is a cryptocurrency, so-called because it uses cryptography to control the creation and transfer of money. Conventionally, the capitalized word “Bitcoin” refers to the technology and network, whereas lowercase “bitcoin” refers to the currency itself.” Great, that definitely answered my…

It's TIME to start ONLINE Training!

by: Adam

As seen in Cambridge Chamber of Commerce – SPECTRUM Magazine. As of January 2018, minimum wage will leap 19% and with it, the expectations of small business and entrepreneurs to ensure that every employee brought on board will be trained and capable of representing their organization, to their customers, in the quickest manner possible. I discussed some of the ways businesses can utilize technological developments in their office to become more efficient as an example in past issues of Spectrum, I defined how my agency has gone paperless since 2015. We’ve integrated cloud-based systems, mobile devices and a work-at-home policy that makes it convenient and easy for anyone in the company to operate. My small business, similar to yours, struggles with how do to get staff up and running quickly, to start making profits for the bottom line. The biggest challenge, of course, is that you have to pay for…

We’ve heard about autonomous driving vehicles and how they are about to come through the US and Ontario licensing, however, in the oil sands Suncor is now using driverless Haul trucks on oil sands. Making it much safer and we can expect to see a lot more autonomous heavy equipment being used in remote areas. https://www.thestar.com/business/2018/01/31/driverless-trucks-at-suncor-energy-oilsands-mines-will-result-in-net-loss-of-400-jobs.html I would have never mentioned Jaguar. Nice car, but not one I’ve never been a big fan of until I have seen their Arctic SUV electric vehicle. Jaguar was showing off in Norway. Recently 10 of their models that are 100% electric have proven that they can last in the deep cold weather. Their main purpose was to show Tesla had nothing on Northern climate manufacturing. The battery…

Listen to Adam Oldfield on the Bill Kelly Show AM900 CHML on Friday at 11:35 am or on his Facebook page LIVE! BITCOIN, Even though it’s dropped to less than $11,000 in the past week Bitcoin continues to be used as a resource for people selling their home. You can now purchase a 5250-acre property for to 2.1 million or 124 Bitcoins. The main reason is the currency is available to be exchanged anywhere in the world. Allowing you to travel and use it anywhere. It’s hard to believe that in 2010 – in Florida a kid paid 10,000 bitcoins for 2 pizzas.  Today that pizza would be worth about $141Million. Stripe (online payment) no longer will allow for accepting BITCOINS along with a few other as the fee’s and transaction confirmations are taking too long. https://mashable.com/2018/01/23/bitcoin-stripe-payment-transactions-ending/#dsaBohjUsaq2 You know sometimes your legs can’t hold out and there is now airbags…

by: Adam

The CES show was in Vegas this past week and there will be lots of items to go through over the next future Tech Talk shows. So I thought I would go through and give my highlights on items that were spectacular. Razor, once the sleekest thinnest phone has come up with something that even Mr. Oldfield is super stoked about. Imagine a laptop where the trackpad gets replaced with your smartphone? Razor has introduced a laptop that you can now do this. The touch display on the phone becomes your trackpad and it comes with extra battery components so it keeps your phone charged. Operating the Android system right on your laptop. There were a few gadgets at the CES show that I thought was amazing. The first one is a Sleeping Mask. You wrap it around your head and it has light technology and records your sleep experiences….
