It's TIME to start ONLINE Training!

by: Adam

As seen in Cambridge Chamber of Commerce – SPECTRUM Magazine. As of January 2018, minimum wage will leap 19% and with it, the expectations of small business and entrepreneurs to ensure that every employee brought on board will be trained and capable of representing their organization, to their customers, in the quickest manner possible. I discussed some of the ways businesses can utilize technological developments in their office to become more efficient as an example in past issues of Spectrum, I defined how my agency has gone paperless since 2015. We’ve integrated cloud-based systems, mobile devices and a work-at-home policy that makes it convenient and easy for anyone in the company to operate. My small business, similar to yours, struggles with how do to get staff up and running quickly, to start making profits for the bottom line. The biggest challenge, of course, is that you have to pay for…

SMARTPHONE EXPLOSION

SMARTPHONE EXPLOSION

ARTICLE IN THE CAMBRIDGE CHAMBER – SPECTRUM winter edition It’s coming to a point when most of our smartphones are reaching a capacity of which provide the most speed and the most features with security. But have we really maximized what we can actually do with our future smartphones? The fact of the matter is smartphones are mini-computers and packed full of features that demand a lot of battery power. In the recent months you might of heard that Samsung phones, and other products, have been exploding due to battery issues. It became such a massive problem with the Note 7 that it is now a law that you are not allowed to bring it on any public transportation in the United States, Canada or on any airline in the world. And doing so will result in fines of over $500,000 USD. Unfortunately Samsung isn’t the only one that has had…

Here is the full article: You’ve probably heard by now or have been affected by it, and that’s your passwords getting hacked. Yes, even the largest of companies still don’t have a full security protection from hackers being able to get into the server to get your information. In the past few months, Linked In, Tumblr, and Myspace, just to name a few, have all been compromised with username and password information getting leaked. Why would it affect you? Identity theft is the number one crime in North America. With credit cards and the simplicity of doing online payments, it seems so simple to start putting together an identity of yourself with a credit card to be set up instantly using your information. All of this can be done sitting at…

What's your Elevator Pitch?

by: Adam

As published in Spectrum Magazine (Cambridge Chamber) – Adam Oldfield Summer 2014 You have probably already heard of the elevator pitch. This is where you give your sales pitch in about 30 – 45 seconds to someone you want to do business with about why they should do business with you. I believe everyone should have an elevator pitch, in fact I preach to many businesses that they need to have a clear communicative message at all times.  But your elevator pitch isn’t just exclusively to companies.  You should have your own 45-second sales pitch as well. There are 4 groups that you want to have a consistent understanding of your business: The first group, really isn’t a group, its just you. What is your 45 second sales pitch about yourself? The second group.  Your staff or friends.  What would your staff (friends) say in about 45 seconds about you…
