Picturing Your Future is a Snap!

Picturing Your Future is a Snap!

by: Shalynn

This year, the OntarioColleges.ca #PictureYourFutureTour has one more way to engage with students – Snapchat! Since its launch in 2011, Snapchat now boasts 150 million users each day – surpassing Twitter in daily users by 10 million. In the United States, the app reaches 41 percent of all 18 – 24-year-olds and half of all new users are over the age of 25. This translates into enormous potential for building brand awareness. For the Picture Your Future Tour, the growing popularity of the app means further opportunities to inspire students to consider post-secondary education at one of Ontario’s public colleges. FPM3 has designed a custom On- Demand Geofilter, that students can use and share with their followers. The filter made its debut on October 3rd at Fleming College to an impressive 1200 views in just two hours. Since then, Ontario Colleges and FPM3 have shown over 3800 users that picturing…

Tech Talk with Adam Oldfield - March 11, 2016

by: Adam

This week on Tech Talk on 900 CHML, the following topics will be discussed with Bill Kelly and Adam Oldfield: Skype is going to kill the smart TV app. They will no longer be going to work on development so any of the smart TVs will no longer allow for you to have the video conferencing feature. CLICK HERE: http://techcrunch.com/2016/03/08/skype-is-killing-its-smart-tv-app/ I’d like to go over a few things you may not know about what big brother is tracking about you through Google and through other social media sources: As an example, Google knows your age and gender – even if you never told them. They have comprehensive profiles of you including what interests you and can even edit what they know about you. Facebook knows when your relationship isn’t going well. Based on your activities and status updates the company can actually predict with almost perfect accuracy whether or not…

Got Milk? It's Movember at FPM3!

by: Adam

Adam and the gang are growing out their moustaches to support the Movember movement.  Started in 2003 by a couple of mates in Melbourne, Australia, Movember has emerged and established itself as legitimate charity.  It has raised a total of over $301 million (CAD).  Last year alone, it raised $125.7 million to support prostate cancer and male mental health initiatives – $41.9 million raised by Canadians! That’s exactly one third of the global initiative. The majority of funds raised in Canada were donated to our men’s health partner, Prostate Cancer Canada, to fund catalytic research and clinical trials infrastructure that leads to significantly improved diagnostic and prognostic tests and treatments to reduce the burden of prostate cancer. Prostate cancer takes more lives annually than breast cancer; let’s not waste any more time guys!We all remember NHL players supporting the cause on the ice, but this year we won’t have that…

Blackberry Remains the choice at FPM3

by: Adam

It’s been a hard decision, but I’m sticking to Blackberry for the time being for our office.  I am putting it on probation as the general direction in the office is that Android is getting warm and welcoming reviews from the accounts staff.    I guess as the President I have the final say on our “equipment” however the reasons for why we should change are actually quite complelling and I have to say are even convincing to me. I was the Palm Pilot original advocate.  I stuck with Palm right up until Handspring was acquired again by them.   Then I moved to Blackberry.  I was glad that I did, however now I’m seeing the mobile future and Blackberry is slowly keeping up.   There is so many areas of improvement that need to be done, but more to their disadvantage is that the world isn’t wanting to work with them…

FPM3.com is now officially launched!

by: Adam

If you’ve never been here before, then you won’t know the difference.  To those of you that are coming back you’ll notice that we have a bit of a change on our website, actually it’s a completely redesigned layout. If you’re looking at this on a tablet or mobile device you’ll also notice a new layout and design has been created. I’m excited to announce the launch of the new FPM3.com website. It’s been 18 months since we last updated our will last website and we were very excited with that layout format. However in the last 18 months things have changed, flash is no longer supported mobile devices and we needed to integrate our social media connections a little better. Thanks for visiting and make sure you “LIKE” us on Facebook [but only if you really like us] as well as check out my Tech Talk with my buddy…
