Q: What was your dream job as a child?
A: “Crocodile Hunter” (aka Zoologist) / Explorer

Q: What is your secret shame?
A: Britney Spears! However, I’m not really ashamed of the Queen of Pop. Also, I like watching old westerns.

Q: What is one thing about you that absolutely no one understands?
A: A favourite treat of mine is pickled herring. It doesn’t seem appealing but give it a try!

Q: Where were you born?
A: Chatham, Ontario

Q: What is your favourite meal?
A: Mom’s Homemade Lasagna

Q: What would be impossible for you to give up?
A: Coffee.

Q: Do you have any strange phobias?
A: I seriously dislike spiders!

Q: What are three things still left on your bucket list?
A: I want to get my motorcycle license, improve my French and travel to Africa.

Q: Who has been a great inspiration in your life?
A: I’ve always been inspired by those who live passionately and creatively. While I’m lucky to have many examples of this in my life, my Grandfather has always been a great source of inspiration for me.

Q: If you could name a beer, clothing, and car brand from scratch, what would they be?
A: Beer – Wobbly Pop
Clothing – Beyond – an ethically sourced and produced, inclusive line of clothing for all bodies!
Car – Nimbus

Shalynn was born and raised in small town Chatham-Kent, Ontario. After earning her BA in English Language and Literature and Business at Brock University, she moved to Hamilton to pursue career opportunities and cheer on the Tiger Cats. She is driven by a passion for communication and leadership, and a commitment to professional development. Outside of work, Shalynn is a bookworm who also enjoys travelling and a variety of creative pursuits such as writing and cooking.

Picturing Your Future is a Snap!

This year, the #PictureYourFutureTour has one more way to engage with students – Snapchat! Since its launch in 2011, Snapchat now boasts 150 million users each day – surpassing Twitter in daily users by 10 million. In the United States, the app reaches 41 percent of all 18 – 24-year-olds and half of all new users are over the age of 25. This translates into enormous potential for building brand awareness. For the Picture Your Future Tour, the growing popularity of the app means further opportunities to inspire students to consider post-secondary education at one of Ontario’s public colleges. FPM3 has designed a custom On- Demand Geofilter, that students can use and share with their followers. The filter made its debut on October 3rd at Fleming College to an impressive 1200 views in just two hours. Since then, Ontario Colleges and FPM3 have shown over 3800 users that picturing…
